So February came and went without posting “Things I Love” for February. That is just how last month went. There were ups…like my first workshop, and there were downs…like my husband going to Afghanistan and my mother having heart surgery in Minnesota. But I made it. March is here and things are looking up so I decided now is the time to do my monthly post about things that I love at this time in my life. Here they are:

1. I love my IPhone, like millions of other human beings. It is genius! I love it because it serves so many purposes for me. It is my email navigator, my calendar, my photography portfolio at a glance, my toy, as well as my main means of communication. And apps, oh don’t get me started. Let’s see, right now, I am loving my apps for: Spanish Translation, Sunrise and Sunset, Weather, My Bank, Animoto, Flight Tracker, PDF Reader, Open Table and Scrabble. BTW-I will be all over the IPad on April 3rd. Who doesn’t want a larger version of this little box of magic?
2. I love my new Silpada Ring. It is so cute. My sister gave it to me as an early Mother’s Day/Birthday Gift. That was a nice way to end February for me. “It’s the little things!” Thanks Vic!
3. I love Butter Chicken, but only the Butter Chicken that is on the Pioneer Woman’s Tasty Kitchen Site. It is heaven, even without some of the ingredients, like Cardamom and Ground Corriander. Try this and you will want it at least once a week. The Pioneer Woman herself, Ree Drummond, allowed me to use her picture on my blog, so YES, I have permission. I have a facebook message to prove it! Thanks Ree!

And I am sure you all know how much I love the mustard that grows here in the spring. It is so beautiful, even on a gloomy morning.

This is what an “unknown” amount of time warrants in packing. I sure hope the zippers hold. The bottom bags get loaded as cargo and he carries the top backpack and sleeping bag on his back, along with wearing his vest, which is about 60 pounds alone. Ouch!
Cooper’s class made Scott a book full of letters, each written from his classmates. They asked questions about flying, Afghanistan, and what he will eat while he is gone. But the most touching was that the students said they would play with Cooper while he was gone. How sweet is that!
At the end of the process that families meet them again in the terminal so they can wait with them until they board the plane. We have a great team that puts together “Operation Proud Farewell”. OPF feeds our members before the long flight, with food donated from the community. They also provide snacks, pillows, etc. for the airmen to take with them.
So the time finally comes where you have to say goodbye. Scott walked us to the car and the rest of the emotion is in the pics. Goodbyes are very hard for both of us. Gosh, I love this man.

And to top it all off, the bride was “game” when we told her we wanted to put them in a field of mustard. For future reference: Fun Bride and Groom+Blue Sky+Bright Yellow Mustard=Fantastic Images!
