I AM… Finding the Holiday Joy!

I am so excited to be taking the online “Finding the Holiday Joy” course with Kelly Willette.  It is a fabulously organized e-course full of holiday activities and how to capture them.  Why am I doing this?  For one main reason… I was so busy in California all year that I rarely picked up the camera to shoot my own family (I know, very bad!)  But that is just how it was.  Now I actually have the time to plan, enjoy and capture the holidays with my own family and I am taking full advantage of it!!   This course is a wonderful guide for me.  I can’t wait to celebrate our holiday season and share it right here on my blog with you.

THE TREE:

The first tradition at the Zippwald House is to put up the tree, the day after Thanksgiving.  And yes, we are one of those families that does not go searching for our “live” tree each year.  Call us “lazy”, but consistent:)   It was so much fun this year, as the boys decorated it almost all by themselves.  Scott even did his part by carrying in all of my boxes from the storage shed.  Thanks Sweetie!  Now, in the online e-course by Kelly Willette, she talks about finding the good light and really thinking about that when shooting your images.   There is little to no light in this area of our house (I know you are all saying it is light in there, but it isn’t), so I am really bumped up in ISO and sometimes had to pull out the flash.  Ugh, you know how I hate to use the flash.  Anyway, the main point for me was to “document it”, even if the images are not technically perfect.

So enjoy my Holiday Journey with me!  Hey, if you want to get in on “Finding your Holiday Joy”…go check it out.  I think she is still allowing people to enroll this week, as it is only the first week of activities posted.  It’s only $50, come on, it is so worth it!

Stay tuned for what is next…ornaments perhaps?!

Ohhhh……I loved seeing my boys decorating the tree. You captured what can only be seen in the faces of children …their joy and focus in the preparation of getting ready for Christmas. Looking forward to more Zippwald JOY!
