In preparation for starting my photography business again, I wanted to get back behind the camera sooner rather than later.  There was no better family to start back with, than Bryan and Shannon’s family.  Our families have known each other for the past 12 years.  We have lived by each other two times in our military careers.  I know that doesn’t sound like much, but Shannon is one of those “diamond in the rough” friends.  Even though you haven’t been together, or lost touch for 3-4 years…the minute you finally see each other again, it is like you spoke yesterday.  And her and Bryan, well…they are like “Peanut Butter and Jelly” or “Red Beans and Rice!”  They are completely perfect for each other in so many ways.  It has been such a joy to watch their two daughters grow up in front of my eyes…and camera, the past two years together.

This family session reminded me a lot of shooting in California.  I had already done a beach session with them, and they wanted something totally different.  So, we headed down to Chinatown here in Honolulu and this is what we captured:

Marina Wilson, a photographer in the San Diego area came to Oahu for vacation a couple weeks ago.  We started our session on the North Shore in Haliewa and then ended on a beach north of there.  I do have to say, it was one of the most relaxed sessions I have done lately.  The kids were older and when you have a photographer in the family, they just know what to say or how to move to engage their family members.  Certainly takes some of the pressure off of me and who doesn’t love that!  Anyway, Marina, I am completely honored that you chose me to capture your family here on the beautiful island of Oahu.  I hope you love your images.

Their whole family was on the island and we enjoyed a beautiful day on the beach capturing their love for each other!

I know that Joe likes pictures of his three girls, so Joe…this one is for you.

I am certain that Kim and Fred are extremely proud of the kiddos they have raised.  I could see it in their eyes all morning.

The first thing on my agenda while second shooting for Kevin is usually to follow the groomsmen while they are getting ready.  Little did I know, that I was about to meet the most entertaining group of groomsmen around.  Red Solo Cup…heck…who needs them when you have Green Party Cups:)

Before the First Look, we had a little bit of time back where the gals were getting ready and I was able to snap a few images of Alicia and her amazing gown.  Is she not the cutest bride eva?!

The light was amazing coming in this sliding door!

This next image was shot a few minutes after they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day.

When I say “Fun” wedding party…it means constant FUN!  There was never a dull moment.

Here were a few portraits I shot quickly as we were waiting for the limo to arrive and take us to the North Shore.

We then headed to the North Shore for a beautiful sunset ceremony with just close family members.
