This past weekend I held my first photography workshop since moving back to California. It was a full house with a ton of intense camera talk. My DSLR Photography 101 workshop covers camera buttons/settings to the Exposure Triangle to composition tips and finally if the group is ready for it…manual settings. I am thrilled to say that everyone came shooting on auto and left shooting on manual! YAY! I can’t wait to see how their images change from the ones they were taking before the workshop. I get to do this in our private Facebook group that I set up for each workshop so that the attendees can keep in touch with each other and so they can ask me questions, even after the workshop is done.
The light (sunny to cloudy) changed on us constantly outside, but they did have a few minutes to shoot their lovely subject (me) before we had to end. There is so much information to cover in 4 hours.
Here are some images from one of my workshop attendees, Jessica P (shot on manual settings). Thank you for sending these!
When you come to my photography workshops, I like to have a few treats for you. You get to keep my new/revamped manual…an amazing wealth of information to look back on after you get home. I also treat you to Free Shipping coupons from my favorite consumer printer, MPIX, as well as lens cleaner clothes and lens cap holders. This time I added another special touch…since we are in wine country.
Here is some of the feedback I received from those who attended:
“Wendy, Your workshop was FANTASTIC and very high yield. I walked in with a very limited photography knowledge of anything other than using the automatic settings. I left with a solid foundation of the basics of shooting in different modes, including “manual”! Thank you for sharing some tricks of the trade!! I will spread the word and highly recommend your workshop!! ~ Jessica”
“I’m so glad I was able to attend today! I learned SO MUCH. Now I think I CAN read the manual and understand the camera language. As before it would have been a foreign language. . ” ~ Another Jessica:)
I love teaching photography workshops and will have them as often as I have people in need. If you are interested in upcoming workshops with me, please send me an email to: email@example.com. I teach this workshop as well as an Advanced Photography and Lightroom Workshop. I don’t have any scheduled right now, but will do so when I have interest. I am also available for photography mentorships. If you are interested in starting a photography business and would like to know how or just have questions about certain aspects of the business, check out my mentoring information.
