When I was home for Thanksgiving I had the pleasure of photographing my sister, professor and author, Dr. Victoria Young. During her sabbatical this year from the University of St. Thomas, she is nearing the completion of her latest book, Marcel Breuer’s Saint John’s Abbey Church: A New Vision for Liturgical Architecture, and needed some head shots. For many years now, her research focus has been on Marcel Breuer’s work, Saint John’s Abbey Church (located in Collegeville, Minnesota), so we decided it would be fitting to actually do her head shots in the Abbey on a very cold and blustery day. Isn’t she lovely!
P.S. You can get my sister’s book in the fall of 2014. It’s being published by the University of Minnesota Press.
Here is Saint John’s Abbey on the outside. Since it was 13 degrees out, we did not spend much time out there, but now you can see what it looks like from the outside. An amazing piece of architecture!
